Prabhupāda: Best way you go on chanting. Your business is not to, I mean to say, satisfy the crowd. Your business is satisfy Kṛṣṇa, and then crowd will be automatically satisfied. We are not going to please the crowd. We are going to give them something, Kṛṣṇa. So you should be very much careful whether you are delivering Kṛṣṇa in the right way. Then they’ll be satisfied. Your only business should be to satisfy Kṛṣṇa.

So even the poorest and weakest of our society, whom nobody cares about anymore, get the grace of the Supreme Personality of Godhead – Sri Krishna, in the form of the Holy Name and delicious vegetarian food (Prasadam = food offered to God/Sri Krishna and blessed by Him).

Prasadam distribution at Frankfurt Central Station

We at IHKM have made it a point to provide the homeless with spiritually sacrificed vegetarian food (Prasadam) and the Holy Name, at least 1-2 times a week.

In this way, they will at least be able to attain a human form of life again in the next life and make further spiritual progress.

In Berlin at the Brandenburg Gate, we distributed over 700 books at the Corona demo 2021 over the weekend and then chanted Hare Krishna mantras for a few hours in the evening with hundreds of thousands of people, who all sang along.

Corona Demo in Leipzig – Street Saṅkīrtan and distribution of sweets (Prasadam = spiritual food sanctified by God)

Here we were in Leipzig at the Corona Demo and distributed Vedic spiritual books, prasadam sweets and the Holy Name of God.

People were happy to see us and we were able to distribute many books.

Reporter for the Bild newspaper – Harry Krischner (Hare Krishna) Berlin Corona Demo

Who is “Harry Krischner”?
That’s what happened to Peter Wilke, 19 years young and a reporter for the Bild newspaper, who didn’t know who the “Hare Krishnas” were?

Music unites all cultures, languages, religions, young and old: finally dancing, laughing and singing with normal people.

Harināma Saṅkīrtana and the public chanting of the holy name on the street

Prabhupāda: This sankirtana or street chanting must go on, it is our most important program. Lord Caitanya’s movement means the sankirtana movement. You may simply take two hours for chanting sixteen rounds daily, two hours for reading congregationally, and balance of time go out for sankirtana. We must do both, reading books and distributing books, but distributing books is the main propaganda.”

Chanting is generally understood as praising, glorifying, reciting or softly murmuring to oneself the Holy Names of the Supreme Personality of Godhead Sri Krishna. In a higher sense, it means devotional service to God or turning towards the Supreme Personality of Godhead – Life in the transcendental sound vibration.
